A Little Bit About Me

Posted on 14th March 2024 • Categories: General

Sometimes, I think it’s nice to know a bit about the person who you are going to be entrusting your personal information with, if I gave somebody a recording of say, a workplace disciplinary, under caution police interview, or one-to-one medical interviews with patients, I would want to know who was going to be listening to them.

Well, as you know, my name is Lesley, I created Midlands Transcription Services back in May 2012 and before that, I worked for a chartered surveyors for quite a number of years.  I absolutely loved my job, It was pretty varied and it involved a lot of audio typing, which I actually enjoyed.  But it was time to move on and the right time to start my own business, so I took the plunge and here I am today.

In my spare time, gardening is something I have a great passion for, along with keeping a nice home.  Over the last couple of years, I’ve discovered wreath making and I can honestly say I’m hooked, it’s so therapeutic, I just switch off and let my creative mind take over.

When I’m not at home, I’m out on one of my daily walks and you can’t beat a good power walk.  Living within walking distance of Cannock Chase, no two walks are ever the same.  Being amongst nature is something I adore.  When I lived in Birmingham, I never noticed trees, plants, birds and other wildlife, it was just concrete buildings and busy roads.  But twenty one years ago, my husband and I moved to Cannock Chase and that’s when I actually noticed nature in its true glory and I find it very calming and good for the soul.

I have a rescue cat called Phoebe, who will be fifteen in a few months time, she is my work buddy and loves to remind me when it’s time to take a break.  She picked up very quickly on my work schedule and break times, that she then took it upon herself to let me know if I’m out of routine.

Today, on 14th March 2024, I’ve just sent out invoice no 616, that’s a heck of a lot of typing and a lot of support and trust from my clients, who I am extremely grateful to, for keeping me busy over the last twelve years.  As long as AI doesn’t take over the world, then who knows, maybe I’ll still be producing transcripts for my clients in another twelve years time!

You can now follow me on LinkedIn (Lesley Nash) and Instagram (transcription_hednesford) for regular transcription updates.
