Calling All Surveyors

Posted on 28th February 2024 • Categories: Surveyors

It really has been a while since I’ve typed an RICS Homebuyers Report, now known as the RICS Level 2 Home Survey, and once upon a time I was typing a few of those a week, then the country suddenly went into lockdown, everything came to a standstill, work took a sudden nosedive and businesses had to change and make cutbacks wherever they could.

But I really do miss typing homebuyer reports. Yes, you heard right, I really miss typing about walls, floors, ceilings, windows etc.  Bank Valuation Reports too, they are another one of my favourites to type.  Reading this, I think I need to get out more!

I bet somewhere out there, across the Midlands, or further afield, from John O Groats to Lands End, there is a surveyor who could really do with the support of my magic fingers, in order for them to focus on the more important day to day aspects of their job.  As much as I enjoy typing, I’m sure you don’t.

I am aware that the days of secretarial support are long gone for many surveyors and it’s a case of typing the reports yourselves or with the aid of AI supported transcription, and I’ve heard a few funny stories of what’s being spoken and what’s actually being typed onto the screen.  Maybe I should start offering a proofreading service, hmmm, now that’s food for thought.

To summarise, I have over twenty years of experience in typing many different reports for surveyors and I am familiar with all the terminology used. You might not need my services at the moment, but one day when AI is driving you crazy, you might just want to give me a call.  So keep a mental note that Lesley Nash of Midlands Transcription Services is here to help.
